Finding out whether the data on your failed hard-disk-drive or solid-state-drive can be recovered does not take long.
It is a simple matter of inserting the drive in to an external usb hard-drive enclosure (see photo) and attempting to read it. It may not show up through windows, but there are one or two particularly well written pieces of software in existence that can see a failed drive even when windows can't, and techtune has them.
Finding out if all or any of your data can be recovered will cost:
$30 plus call out.
Your techtune technician will do this with you and if data can be found you will be able to see how much there is and decide whether you wish to have it recovered.
If you do, it is generally better for you to purchase an external enclosure from your techtune technician and have your computer set up to do this. The data recovery process can take quite some time depending on the amount of data there is to recover, so doing this will work out better than paying an hourly rate.
setup and enclosure $60.
and that's it...
We'll leave it with you to do its job. When complete it will have recovered whatever data is salvageable and put it in a folder on your desktop for you to go through at your leisure. You'll be amazed what you'll find because when you delete something it is only marked to be written over, and if it hasn't it will be there too. If you would prefer not to have it put on your pc's internal drive, your techtune technician can set it up to transfer on to an external drive instead.
1 terabyte usb external drive $99 including setup.
please note:
We do not offer a mechanical repair service on hard-drives.
If the drive has failed due to a physical break down, we will have established this initially.
There are very few businesses that offer mechanical repair, the exercise is generally prohibitively expensive with no guarantees.
Disclaimer: Note that age and deterioration can cause your computer's components to fail when handled during service. While techtune takes all care to avoid such failures, any work performed on pcs once they are out of warranty is undertaken entirely at owner's risk.
